Friday. Market day in Felletin. So Georgie and I nipped down there this morning to get some bread and fruit'n'veg and stuff. Nice and sunny so the place was packed. Very colourful with lots of different stalls. Remembered to take my camera so rattled off a few snaps. Finished off with a coffee and a cool beer at my fave caff and watched the world stroll by. Then drove back home and had fresh bread and cheese. Marvellous. On days like this I'm really glad we moved in France.
Catching up!

After your hard winter I can see that you are happy now with more to share on your lovely blog! Keep having a lovely time together. Back to our shackeau in Normandy in August to put in wood stove and some heaters. Only just managed to get rid of the bronchitis I got in Jan there, helped along, no doubt, by shovelling up piles of fermented shit de fouine. It is so hot and sticky here in Yorkshire - 30 degrees, by 'eck.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, wood stoves and heaters are absolute necessities out here in winter. Not surprised you got bronchitis last January if you had no heating. Thirty degrees in Yorkshire! That must be some kinda record.
Deletewould be great to see more pics of the new cottage by the way. It is not unlike ours in Normandy to look at
ReplyDeleteI'll take some more snaps when we next visit. Trouble is, it needs a fair bit of renovating before it's properly habitable.
DeleteI'm glad that you and Georgie had fun at the market day in Felletin. Looks like a nice place to visit.
ReplyDeleteWas the cat in the cage also for sale?
Loved the last photo a lot....so peaceful. Part of the new chateau/cottage grounds?
Not sure if the kitten was for sale or just there for a day out with its stallholder owner. Seemed to be having a good time though spitting at inquisitive dogs. The last photo is of a ruin in Felletin that's been sort of renovated as a garden area for locals to sit and ponder in peace.
DeleteSounds like you had a good day, and I am also looking forward to some photos of the new cottage.
