I heard about it from many friends in France. One in the Aude reckoned they had about 6 inches and it was bringing tree branches down with the weight. Spring's a funny old time there. I was reading a blog by some of our long term guests the other day. They stayed in 2007 and had 5 days without rain in 9 weeks! Still, it's nearly summer.Bon courage!
Keith - A Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne estate agent once told me the very same thing. Turned out he was, er..., a little economical with the truth. He's probably in banking or politics now.
Meredith - It is indeed crazy for this time of year. Snow's rubbish.
We had a little flurry but not too much - I must learn to listen to the older folks round these parts - they did warn of snow but I thought they were talking a load of old twaddle and chose to believe the internet meteo instead. Doh!
Roz - Same thing happened to moi. Neighbour boy-devil Hadrien muttered something about snow coming a few days back. Told him he was off his trolley. Doh, aussi!
UGH! The freaking weather! We've got cold temperatures and forecast for almost two weeks of rain in my corner of Provence. I'm going loopdiloops! CRAZY!
MLindt - I'll have a read of your bloggeau immediately. And I'll Google Saint de Glace (have no idea what it/he/she is). Personally, I blame Gordon Brown as usual.
Sara - Rubbish weather in sunny Provence?! And apparently it's sunny in Scotland. It's all gone bonkers.
Bohemian hermit recluse hiding in the mist-shrouded hills and backwoods of central France; went to art school in the mid-Sixties and never really left; masochistic supporter of Aldershotnil FC; fascinated by the mystery of disappearing odd socks; follically, cosmetically and vertically challenged but horizontally unchallenged, otherwise perfect (it says here); probably one of the luckiest geezers in the whole wide world.

ReplyDeleteFeels cold enough to snow up here in sunny Brittany but... of course, it never snows here (according to the estate agents!)
ReplyDeleteYup, all very wierd. I think we've had summer - Monday and Tuesday last week.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy, isn't it? I have on 2 sweaters today and I'm still cold. No snow here though.

ReplyDeleteWe are in Geneva, just blogged about the cold weather yesterday. It is the fault of the Saint des Glace apparently.
